Abstract :
Reports progress of a programme to measure the Newtonian constant of gravitation, G, with a torsion strip balance using several different methods. We have recently published a result with an uncertainty of 41 parts per million (ppm). The present efforts are aimed at reducing this uncertainty to about 10 ppm.
