  • Abstract
Due to numerous transmission lines in power systems, it is hard to control whole of transfer power. Phase Shifter Transformer (PST) installation in transmission lines causes one degree increment in the freedom degree of system, so it´s a useful device to control power of the transmission lines. In the most studies of PST allocation, some criteria such as losses reduction, annual economic saving in generation, system steady and dynamic state improvement, lines overload diminution (elimination of load congestion in the transmission lines) have been considered lonely. In this paper, a combinational criterion providing voltage profile improvement, line overload reduction and appropriate power distribution between lines in addition to lines losses reduction has been presented. Implementation results of the foregoing method on IEEE 5-Bus test system by using PSS/E (Power System Simulator for Engineers) are given.
