Abstract :
In this letter, a new bandstop filter is proposed using the non-bianisotropic complementary split ring resonator (NBCSRR), which has a behaviour of electromagnetic bandgap. An array of NBCSRRs is etched on the top metal plane of microstrip line. Thus, due to the sub-wavelength operation of NBCSRRs, the overall size of the component is compact. Furthermore, high performance of wide and steep rejection in the stopband can be achieved to isolate electromagnetic interference noises and suppress spurious harmonics in electrical packages and systems effectively. A fourth-order filter prototype is fabricated on a single-layer printed circuit board and measured, and the experimental results agree well with the simulated ones.
