Abstract :
Nowadays the technique of remote sensing is gaining importance in revealing environmental changes in urban areas. Satellite monitoring of geophysical fields permits to control the state of atmosphere above the city, to detect industrial discharges and. to define zones of negative influence of the megapolis on the adjacent forest and park areas. At the Space Research Institute, monitoring of heat discharges from power plants and large industrial enterprises is performed on the basis of data from NOAA-12-NOAA-15 meteorological satelliting visible and IR spectrum ranges
