Abstract
The theory of characteristic modes used in antenna analysis and design is usually more elegant than simple design formulas or purely numerical techniques. The predominant two characteristic currents and the corresponding characteristic patterns of a diversity wire antenna with two highly-isolated ports are given in this paper. The antenna´s pattern and the current on it can be approximated by the combination of the characteristic modes 1 and 2.
