Abstract
Computation fluid dynamics (CFD) is widely used in petroleum industry to troubleshoot separator equipment problems through various techniques. The most common one - special single-phase flow modeling (gas and liquid are modeled separately). New separation equipment becomes smaller, while working fluid flow increases the calculated performance of existing equipment. It enhances effective separator modeling. Extensive use of multiphase flow modeling is currently possible due to an increase in computer performance and capacity and the improvement of ANSYS.
