Abstract :
Microwave filters and couplers embedded in low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) substrates for system in package (SiP) applications are proposed in this paper. Taking advantages of the multilayer nature of LTCC, laminated waveguides and cavities can be flexibly arranged and embedded in the substrate to minimize either the area occupation or interference between different components. With the multimode characteristics of laminate waveguides cavities and the proposed coupling schemes, coupling coefficients with respect to various functionality such as miniaturized filters, trisection filters, dualband filters, diplexers, wideband magic-Ts, magic-Ts with bandpass filter responses can be accomplished.
