Abstract :
A simplified calculation model of specific absorption rate (SAR) for laptop-mounted equipment, based on the theories of transmission-line and the surface impedance, is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the realistic system composed of wireless data card, laptop and liquid phantom is accurately modeled. Then, we propose a calculation model of SAR based on transmission-line theory and the amplitude of the surface impedance to simplify the reference liquid phantom. The distributions of the SAR along axis x, y and z and peak-average SAR are almost identical between reference phantom and simplified phantom, while the efficiency can be improved by more than 30%. The experimental results are in good agreement with the simulated ones.
