Abstract
The paper presents a methodology to derive parameters of an equivalent circuit representation of a three phase induction motor from the catalogue data provided by the electric motor manufacturer. The performance of the motor in terms of torque, efficiency and power factor is then calculated from the equivalent circuit. The paper presents validity of methodology with results of analysis with data of a motor from a catalogue and its comparison with the results of manufacturer´s tests in the laboratory. The paper then also attempts to further analyze motor performance if it is driven by a six pulse inverter.
