Abstract :
The conformal FDTD algorithm is employed to analyze the characteristics of a probe-fed cylindrically conformal microstrip patch antenna. A hybrid technique in Cartesian coordinate system combining the non-uniform meshing and matrix-pencil approach is used to obtain the input impedance and the radiation pattern of the above-mentioned antenna. The numerical results show that the conformal algorithm is efficient and accurate enough, besides its better adaptability in dealing with arbitrary antenna structures and shapes.
