Abstract :
The different adaptive controllers for a permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMSLM) position control system are proposed. The proposed controllers include a back-stepping adaptive controller and a self-tuning adaptive controller. The detailed controller design procedures are discussed. The transient responses of position and speed due to load disturbances are discussed and analyzed. The tracking response of the system for different input position commands like step, square, triangular and sinusoidal time-varying signals are studied and compared. The system is simulated using Simulink.
