Abstract
According to theoretical assumptions that the correlation exist between the patent output and corporate performance, the authors chose 30 listed companies, involved in the following three industries: electronic information, pharmaceutical biotechnology and mechanical equipment instrumentation, and classified the patent output of enterprises and economic performance indicators. The results suggested that the correlations between the patent applications and the economic performance had significant differences across the industries. We also attempted to explain these differences in this paper.
