Abstract :
A fuzzy logic controller based on sliding mode control is developed for a buck converter operating in CCM. It is an offline fuzzy controller. An important claim of this paper is a drastic reduction in rule base as compared to a conventional fuzzy logic controller, where the number of rules increases exponentially with increase in input membership functions. Simulation studies are carried out using MATLAB SIMULINK, fuzzy logic toolbox. Obtained result is compared with a conventional 7times7 rule based fuzzy controller and also a PID controller for the same buck converter.
