Abstract :
Data warehousing has set several milestones in the journey of its advancement. Its significant contribution to business organizations for decision making process demands effective solutions to be designed and developed. It ensures growth of the businesses in the highly competitive business environment of today. This paper presents current scenario of data warehouse development process and how with passage of time different aspects of data warehousing like modeling, design, implementation, and maintenance got evolved. We have done a comparative study of many related research papers and then tried to put together the findings of different research groups and identified the issues that are still unresolved or need further attention. We also propose a broad layout for design of a framework for data warehousing to ensure effective data warehousing practices.
