Abstract
Three phase winding current of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is reconstructed from DC line current using a single sensor placed at the low potential D.C. return line of the inverter. Without using the load or motor parameters, the reconstruction is carried out by a curve-fitting observer, which is robust under steady and dynamic conditions. The reconstructed current is used for feedback in the current control loop. The control scheme was found to operate satisfactorily. Simulation results are presented in detail.
