Abstract :
The paper largely addresses to investigate the validity of the Thevenin model in obtaining Q-V characteristics of P-Q loads, the main consideration for analysis of the problem of voltage instability and reactive power management. A power network feeding a P-Q load, modeled as Thevenin equivalent containing voltage source in series with an impedance is considered for obtaining Q-V characteristics.
