Abstract
Notice of Retraction
After careful and considered review of the content of this paper by a duly constituted expert committee, this paper has been found to be in violation of IEEE´s Publication Principles.
We hereby retract the content of this paper. Reasonable effort should be made to remove all past references to this paper.
The presenting author of this paper has the option to appeal this decision by contacting TPII@ieee.org.
Using the achievements of design based research (DBR) for reference, a novel practical teaching model is presented considering the characteristics of ordinary college students. It creates contest, research and application types teaching environments to keep the stimulation on studying interest. For emphasizing actual teaching and learning effects, multi-level iteration cycles featured by testing are designed to drive teaching process. The model is applied successfully in algorithm course. Specially, the contest-type teaching environment combined with ACM/ICPC has significant effect on improving students´ ability of solving problem.
