Abstract :
This paper presents a new approach to detect and classify the non-stationary power quality disturbances using advanced digital signal processing approaches like wavelet transform (WT) and S-transform (ST) in noisy conditions. WT is a powerful tool to detect the power quality disturbances, but the application of WT is limited in noisy conditions due to its degradable performance. Hence in this paper an on-line detection of power quality disturbances is proposed using ST, which shows potential effect in noisy conditions.
