  • Abstract
    An event driven simulation model of the Fiber Distributed Data Interface (FDDI) networking protocol is presented. The simulation model, written in the C language, enables performance analysis of a local area network (LAN) based on the FDDI protocol. For demonstration purposes, a graphic interface shows the message packets as they traverse the network, the number of messages awaking transmission and received for a given station on the FDDI ring, and textual information conveying the status of the network
