Abstract
Many applications, including plasma soft X-ray, ion beam and microwave generators, require the production of a fast-rising high-voltage pulse. Although the commonly encountered solution is a Marx generator, in many cases this constitutes a costly and frequently unaffordable technique. This paper presents a simple technique for the generation of very high-voltage pulses from an economic and compact (possible tabletop) generator. Ways by which the present prototype generator can be improved and also made to generate multiple pulses for each capacitor discharge are also mentioned
