Abstract :
Electromagnetic force calculation is essential in the analysis and design of any electrical machine. There are two kinds of forces, the magnetization force and the JtimesB force, which play an important role in the behavior of any electrical machine. This work involves development of finite element code for the calculation of electromagnetic force on a permeable material. Maxwell´s stress tensor (MST) method has been implemented to calculate the force. This has been used to analyze the forces on an embedded conductor slot of a rotating machine.
