Abstract :
This paper presents a naval approach for the control of a current source inverter (CSI) based STATCOM. The dq-frame model of the CSI STATCOM is proposed as a basis for the control design. Also steady-state characteristic of the CSI-STATCOM is proposed. A nonlinear fuzzy pro controller and multivariable full state feedback has been used. The proposed STATCOM has been simulated using Matlab/Simulink package. The simulation results show that no oscillatory dynamics of the ac current without overshoot or steady-state error exists.
