Abstract
This paper proposes a DS/CDMA coherent detection system using a suppressed pilot channel to achieve coherent RAKE diversity combining for up-link land mobile communication systems. At the receiver we apply a chip timing recovery scheme based on block demodulation and maximum likelihood estimation, and measure the complex delay profile. Proposed adaptive RAKE diversity performance in the case of QPSK is evaluated by computer simulation. As a result, the BER performance of the proposed system is superior to that of the conventional systems
