Abstract :
We report on the development and construction of a new pulse generator, identified as a PBG7, capable of delivering a 45 kV, 150 ps rise time pulse into a 50/spl Omega/ load. Continuous repetition rate of 1 kHz is combined with a trigger jitter/spl sim/10 ps was achieved. The main output is tolerant of mismatched loads and will even sustain an intermittent arc discharge.
