Abstract :
In this paper, a statistical analysis of recent three-year wind data in Singapore domain is conducted, and typical wind scenarios are derived and represented by wind roses. With these established typical wind scenarios, SWAN (Simulation WAves Nearshore) model is employed to simulate the respective wind-waves scenarios in Singapore Strait. Once the relationships between typical wind and its corresponding wind-waves conditions are established, there is no need to run computationally expensive SWAN model to obtain the typical wind-waves scenarios. In the future one can simply use the established patterns or data driven methods for the swift wind-waves forecast.
