Abstract :
A connection admission control scheme based on the Gaussian traffic model is proposed. According to the scheme every call declares only its peak rate. Its statistics are then measured during its holding time. The connection admission criteria is based on traffic measurements and loss probability calculations based on the the Gaussian traffic model. Simulation tests show that the scheme is somewhat more efficient than schemes proposed earlier
