Abstract :
Mogul-D is a pulsed power flash X-ray machine forming a part of one of AWEs flash radiographic facilities. At the age of twenty-five, Mogul-D no longer has the reliability it once had. With two of its seventy ICSE capacitors broken but not removed, due to fears over its structural integrity it was decided to replace the ISCE capacitor based Marx with a Sandia style hanging Marx configured with five columns of twelve capacitors plus one column of eight capacitors. This report will show details of the method used in designing the new Marx configuration as well as transmission-line code (Bertha) predictions of the voltage output of the upgraded machine.
