Abstract :
An optimization problem of the LEO space-based radar constellation design is considered. The conflicting objects, such as maximization of the global surveillance performance and minimization of the satellite numbers, the energy requirements and the launch cost are analyzed. Including the collision of the Walker constellation and the limitation of the satellites numbers, the constraints are discussed. A specially tailored genetic algorithm for the LEO space-based radar constellation design problem is proposed as a methodology to find the optimal solutions. The efficiency of the algorithm is corroborated by the results of the simulation
