Abstract :
This paper describes an application of wavelet transform to the fast fault detection and location on a transmission line. We make use of two properties of wavelet transform, i.e., detection of the irregular point and time frequency analysis. After we clarify the reflection of traveling wave by wavelet transform, we calculate autocorrelations of the transformed data for finding out the period of the reflection. Further, we implement the algorithm on FPGA and confirm the possibility of the realization of the proposed method
