Abstract :
The authors describe a computer-based learning environment to familiarize the student with the strengths and weaknesses of various cardiac imaging modalities for evaluating left-ventricular (LV) function. It uses an association-based hypermedia approach implemented with HyperCard and can be updated easily to remain current as imaging techniques evolve. The system allows medical image data to be directly integrated with text, audio, and computer graphics on a general-purpose low-cost workstation that has the capability to display images and movies of a beating heart
