Abstract
This paper is concerned with query-based modeling and control algorithms for vibration isolation of structures by using a semi-active MR damper in which its viscosity is controllable by input voltage. Although an MR damper has complex hysteresis dynamics, its damping force can be predicted precisely by a proposed query-based approach. Vibration control of structure with the installed MR damper can also be given by the query-based local control algorithm. The effectiveness of these query-based local modeling and control approaches is investigated in simulation and experimental studies
