Abstract :
This paper analyzes the delay for the messages sent on Enhanced Access Channel (EACH) in High Rate Packet Data (HRPD) Revision A system using both analytical and simulation means. Higher order delay statistics are important when end-to-end user experience such as call setup delay is analyzed. We derive the delay distribution and find that our analytical model closely matches simulation results. We observe that retransmitted messages are more likely to be involved in future collisions.
