  • Abstract
    A 2.4 GHz voltage-controlled oscillator based on standard complementary and symmetrical LC circuit topology and micro electromechanical system (MEMS-based variable capacitors for frequency tuning is demonstrated in this paper. This VCO operates at 2.4 GHz, achieves a phase noise of 109.8 dBc/Hz, -129.5 dBc/Hz, -144.0 dBc/Hz of 100 KHz, 1 MHz, 4 MHz offset from the carrier respectively, exhibits a tuning range of 4.58%, and changes equably from 2320 to 2.430 GHz when tuning voltage is changed from 0 to 5V, which overmatches that of the standard one
