Abstract
The Nippon Idou Tsushin Corporation (IDO), currently providing analog cellular telephone services in the central part of Japan including Tokyo, has developed an 800-MHz band digital cellular system based on the Japanese standard, PDC. The field trial system has been installed in Tokyo to evaluate the overall system performance. After completing the trial in Tokyo and Yokohama regions, commercial service commenced in June, 1994
