Abstract :
This paper investigates pixel level fusion techniques of SAR image at different polarizations or different frequencies. Three approaches to SAR image fusion: 1) the principal component analysis (PCA), 2) the wavelet transform fusion technique, and 3) the combined approach of PCA and wavelet are investigated and tested. Test results show that the combined approach of PCA and wavelet as being proposed in this paper is more effective than the other two algorithms. It enhances spatial detail information of the fused image largely and suppresses the speckle noise well
