Abstract
A tapped delay line (TDL) model is proposed for capturing the essence of indoor and outdoor propagation modes in 1800 MHz PCS band. The TDL models are used for system evaluation and verification of various PCS common air interface proposals by simulations and tests. For bandlimited inputs the TDL model is equivalent to a wider channel followed by a bandlimiting filter. Each tap is weighted by a complex random process with parameters derived from the statistical properties of the wideband channel
