  • Abstract
    Generating sales inquiries and launching new product lines are the main objectives of product exhibitions. Nevertheless, in order to make customers quickly choose, purchase, evaluate, and customize products according to their tastes and personal requirements, applying VR technology, virtual product exhibition is becoming a better way of providing a realistic, intelligent and friendly interactive 3D exhibition environment. In this paper, the strategy of virtual product exhibition is illuminated. Subsequently, the general development flow for virtual product exhibition is presented. This general flow is beneficial to the virtual exhibition of similar products. Furthermore, the related implementation techniques and methods are analyzed, including virtual human design, the solution of motion tracking and human animation, as well as tracking data compensation. Finally, the developed application of virtual product exhibition under CAVE environment is illustrated. It is proven that the introduction of a virtual human with real-time motions and gestures for product presentation, effectively enhance expressiveness and believability of the virtual product.
