  • Abstract
The paper deals with the problem of localization of harmonic sources in a power system. It is an essential problem especially in the conditions of the energy market. In the paper, the method which unlike other methods is reliable and does not require exact knowledge on parameters of equivalent circuit representing the utility and customer sides, is considered. This method utilizes the specially-defined rate, which is called as the generalized localization rate. In the paper the properties of the mentioned method are analyzed. Different cases of harmonic generation in a power system are taken into account and results of its localization with use of the considered method are discussed. Special attention is paid to such cases when there are resonances in a power system. The considerations deal with harmonics in a voltage and harmonics in a current at the distinguished point of a power system. At the end of the paper, features of the presented method are summed up.
