  • Abstract
    The characteristics of electromagnetic interference typical for generating units and microprocessor relay protection equipment was given. On the base of analysis of microprocessor relay protection equipment operation principles the connection between the types of interference and functional groups, relay protection equipment failures and faults caused by them was demonstrated. It was also demonstrated how to define the influence of electromagnetic interference on the safety indexes of microprocessor relay protection and automatics functioning.
