Abstract
Positive systems are dynamic systems whose trajectory remains in the nonnegative orthant of the state space if it is originated from a point in the orthant. A new approach is proposed to design positive linear observers for positive linear systems. By employing a state transformation, the class of systems that admits positive linear observers has been enlarged. New results on compartmental systems are also developed
