Abstract
Reliability of supply and power (voltage) quality are more important today than they ever been for electricity and electric appliances providers, and electricity consumers. At the same time, electric power industry around the world copes with reorganization, cost cutting, competition, and changes in regulatory structure. Also in Poland it takes place. This paper presents the key problems of reliability assessment and improvement facing Polish electric power system in that ldquonewrdquo era. Experiences with generation reliability evaluation using own GRA (generating reliability assessment) computer program and with transmission system reliability assessment using EPRI TRELSS methodology are also described.
