Abstract
A new dynamic channel allocation algorithm with transmitter power control is proposed. The algorithm tries to allocate a channel to which subsequent power control can be applied most effectively. Namely, among the channels whose carrier-to-interference ratio (C/I) exceeds the C/I threshold by at least power control range ΔP, the channel with minimum C/I is allocated and its power is decreased by ΔP thereafter. By properly selecting ΔP, this algorithm has been confirmed to realize very low transmitter power, which guarantees a longer battery life in hand-held terminals, without sacrificing other performance compared to conventional algorithms
