Abstract :
Interleaved frequency division multiple access (IFDM A) is frequency orthogonal multiple access scheme and acquires high frequency diversity gain. In addition, the peak to average power ratio (PAPR) of IFDM symbol is small due to the single carrier modulation and thus the nonlinear amplifier having good power efficiency can be used in the mobile station. If an IFDMA is applied to the down link access (from base station to mobile station), the power consumption can be saved. However, the interleaved frequency division multiplexing (IFDM) has not been clarified yet for down link access. In this paper, we evaluate the error rate performance and PAPR performance with using the computer simulation. We derive the advantages and the disadvantages of IFDM compared to multicarrier code division multiplexing (MC-CDM).
