Abstract :
A new noise variance estimation algorithm is presented for a multiuser OFDM system. In this estimator , the noise variance is derived from the traditional channel estimation results and no additional system cost is needed. Its performance is analyzed theoretically. The computational complexity is small and its performance is robust to noise power. Simulation results show that under multi-path fading channel the proposed estimator can obtain accurate real time measurements of the noise variance.
