Abstract
The realized adaptive antenna array is developed for the 12 GHz frequency range and left-hand circular polarization. It consists of four planar antenna arrays, each with 8×32 microstrip patches. With the main beam steerable in the full azimuth range of 360° (4-bit phase shifters) and an elevation range from 15° to 37° (1-bit phase shifters), the antenna design considers the special problems inherent in the mobile reception of direct broadcasting satellites in Germany. Experimental tests using the German TV-SAT 2 as well as laboratory measurements under similar boundary conditions, such as transmitter power and angle of incidence, have shown good performance
