Abstract :
This paper concerns the use of adaptive arrays in mobile communication for reducing co-channel interference and compensating desired signal fading, thereby increasing the channel capacity. Antenna arrays may be used at the base station and/or at the mobile unit. Methods for optimal combining of the antenna outputs are discussed. A simple technique for base station reception due to clustered scatterers around a mobile is proposed. A preliminary simulation study is presented
