Abstract :
The sideband current harmonic components would inhere in induction machine systems driven by a voltage-source inverter with SPWM and SVPWM techniques. The sideband torque ripple components associated with these current harmonics could potentially cause vibration and acoustic noises and hence deteriorate the overall performance of the drive system. The main sideband voltage and current harmonics in the first and second carrier frequency domains in induction machine driven by voltage-source inverter with SPWM and SVPWM techniques, are first analytically derived in this paper. The respective analytical expressions of main torque ripple contents related to these current harmonics are subsequently obtained and analyzed. Numerical simulations based on commercial software are carried out to validate the analytical method. The satisfactory agreements between the analytical and numerical results have revealed that the analytical method developed in this paper can deliver accurate predictions with minimum computational efforts and hence suffices for prompt preliminary assessments.
