  • Abstract
For dual-band high-resolution synthetic aperture radar applications, an efficient array design is investigated. The operating frequencies are at X and C-band, centered about 10.0 and 5.5 GHz, respectively. The X-band antenna is a ridged waveguide slotted resonant array, which is subarrayed to improve, the bandwidth. The cavity-fed slot antennas are used to obtain a wide bandwidth for the C-band radiator elements. The use of ridged waveguide for X-band saves a space between linear arrays, which are structured into chokes to depress the coupling. Simultaneously, the spaces are enveloped into cavity slot antennas for the C-band applications. The dual-band antennas achieve a wide bandwidth up to 1.0 GHz
