Abstract :
This paper examines the design of an acquisition algorithm for a direct-sequence packet-radio communication system. The acquisition algorithm is designed to acquire several multipath components, if available, that are exploited in a RAKE receiver. The focus of the paper is the selection of parameters for the algorithm, and the impact of those choices on the performance of the system in multipath channels
