Abstract
This paper presents the system design concept of a new L-band cylindrical phased-array radar. This particular design was motivated by the fact that the benefits of the cylindrical array antenna offers a 360° azimuth coverage. The system features are discussed first. The radar parameters derived through performance analyses and computer simulations are included. Next, system tradeoff studies are made. Finally, certain subsystem features are also described
